Doris John

Funeral services for Doris John, 88, of Lufkin will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Shane Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. John was born December 24, 1929 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Sleeter (Roe) and Johnny Patterson, and died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. John had resided in the Lufkin area all of her life. She was a homemaker and loved to clean. She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. John was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include her husband, Alex John of Lufkin; daughters, Linda Price and husband James of Palestine and Carolyn Doughty and husband Roger of Phoenix, Arizona; son, Danny Brooks and wife Kathy of Carrolton; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Lee Brooks; brother, CB Patterson; and sisters, Johnnie Thompson and Billie Joyce Patterson.

Pallbearers will be James Lebel, Robert Smith, Shevin Wells, David Hollingsworth, Kevin Saenz, and Ray Garcia.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
