Funeral services for Dora Grigsby Hundley, 86, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Brother Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Hundley was born July 11, 1939 in Ary, Kentucky to the late Nettie (Fugate) and Robert Grigsby, and died Wednesday, July 15, 2025 at her residence.
Mrs. Hundley worked in sales for Monsanto and Sterling Chemicals for a combined 32 years. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother and was the kind of woman who put everyone before herself. She was spunky and had a short fuse. Everyone made sure to stay on her good side. Mrs. Hundley was a people person - she could strike up conversations with strangers and easily make friends. Mrs. Hundley loved to sit on the back porch watching the hummingbirds. She liked working with the cows and named most of them. She also enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Hundley was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved working with kids and taught Sunday school and led Bible Camp. She also loved serving food and working in the church kitchen.
Survivors include her husband, Taxi Hundley of Lufkin; children and spouses, Jane and David Chamberlin of Friendswood, Randy Stacy of Mont Belvieu, Robin and Tommy Medlock of Dickinson, and Richie and Sarah Chittum of La Marque; grandchildren and spouses, Lindsay and Patrick Ewart, Haley Chamberlin, Dora and Drake Nettles, Brooke and Jamin Stevenson, Ashli Stacy, Bryson and Nikki Stacy, Jessica and Jeremy Williams, Matthew and Maryann Medlock, Sarah and Joshua Wilson, Chad and Chaney Chittum, Codee Chittum, and Cason Chittum; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Agnes Noble, Lou Rust, Pearl Hess, and Polly Pangle; and brothers, Ryle Grigsby and Bob Grigsby.
Pallbearers will be Randy Stacy, Matthew Medlock, Bryson Stacy, Tristan Stacy, Chad Chittum, and Codee Chittum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cason Chittum, Tommy Medlock, and David Chamberlin.
The family would like to thank Elite Hospice, A Pineywoods Home Health Care, and her personal caregivers, Liz Rauma, Gladys Thigpen, Teresa Copeland, Stephanie Parnell, and Barbara Hassell for their care of Mrs. Hundley.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
