Donald Ray Wright

Memorial services for Donald Ray Wright, 75, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Mott officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Wright was born September 30, 1946 in Orange, Texas to the late Ima Jane (Hutson) and Arthur Sam Wright, and died Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Wright had resided in Angelina County 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in retail for 40 years. Mr. Wright loved to fish. He was of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include his wife, Letha (Smith) Wright of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Kris Smith of Lumberton and James and Dorothy Smith of Etoile; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Darin Hinch of Vidor; grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Danny Smith, Kaitlyn Wimberley, Andrew Hinch, Sophia Smith, Rachel Martinez, Andrew Mair, and Nicholas Ngo; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Wright of Bay City; sisters, Sue McKague of Lufkin, Nelda Ebright of Pflugerville, Frances Packham of Starks, Nevada, and Kathy Upton of George West; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; and sisters, Helen, Maryann, Bertha, and Mae.
