Donald Lester Walker

Funeral services for Donald Lester Walker, 67, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Norman Want officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Walker was born April 11, 1951 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Mamie Lois (White) and Harvey Lester Walker, and died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at his residence. He had resided in Lufkin most of his life. Mr. Walker retired from Safeway following more than 40 years as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Elsie (Collins) Walker of Lufkin; children and their spouses, Sandra and Chris Marriott, Bobby and Catrina Walker, all of Huntington, JoAnna and Jason Hanson of Nebraska, Logan Spurlock and Savana Guinn of Lufkin, Stephanie and Ryan Gullett of Tomball, and Daniel Banks of Lufkin; grandchildren, Dawn Hanson, Jason Hanson, Olivia Hanson, D.J. Walker, Halle Walker, Madelyn Spurlock, and Christopher Gullett; great-grandson, Trenton Hildebrand; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Tracy Davisson of Hudson; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Betty Walker of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Collins, Gary Collins, Alton Collins, Blake Collins, Quentin Walker, and Colten Collins.

Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Collins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
