Donald Edward Landrum

Funeral services for Donald Edward Landrum of Conroe will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kaice Farhat officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery.

Donald Edward Landrum, lovingly known to many as “Papa,” passed away on August 21, 2026, in Conroe, Texas, at the age of 84. He was born June 28, 1942 in Diboll, Texas to June Elizabeth (Hodges) and Floyd Landrum. Donald lived in many places throughout his military career before eventually settling in Lufkin, where he spent his golden years with his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia.

Donald proudly served 24 years in the United States Navy and retired honorably as a Chief Petty Officer. During his distinguished career, he held numerous positions and was among the early members of the Navy SEALs. Following his military service, he began a second career as a truck driver before fully retiring in 2005.

Donald was an outdoorsman at heart who loved fishing, hunting, camping, and especially being on the water. He was a strict but loving father who instilled in his children a strong moral compass, a strong work ethic, and the importance of doing what was right. As “Papa,” he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren tremendously. His family will especially remember that Papa always had a saying for every situation—and somehow knew exactly when to say it.

Donald is survived by his children and their spouses, Cody Landrum, Stephen and Angelica Cole, Kevin and Lisa Raines, and Holly and Dru Bilbrew; his grandchildren, Cara Becerra, Taylor Zoch, Jenna Raines, Karen Disman, Emily Cole, Marshall Landrum, Tucker Landrum, Harmony Williams, Keyan Williams, Christian Raines, Sean Raines, and Anna Wars; and numerous beloved great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia; son, Ronnie Raines; sister, Ellen; and brother, Kenneth.

Donald leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, hard work, family, and love. His lessons will live on through his children; his stories and sayings will continue to be shared; and his memory will remain with the generations of family who were blessed to call him Dad and Papa.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service.
