Donald Ray "Don" Goff

Memorial services for Donald Ray “Don” Goff, 75, of Lufkin will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Goff was born June 29, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to the late Pauline (Patton) and Elmer D. Goff, and died Friday, August 25, 2023 in the VA Medical Center in Houston.

Don had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator and was employed with Johnson Excavating for more than 20 years. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was most proud to serve in the 1st Calvary Division as a Medic. Don loved going hunting and reading was a favorite pastime.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Debi Goff of Lufkin; children, Les Goff and wife Jodi of Tarkington Prairie, Texas, Gary Finley, Sandra Storment and husband Matt, all of Lufkin, Erica Schaffer of Ravenel, South Carolina; Joey Chaplin of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Halee, Hannah, Madi, Lauren, Timothy, Sebastian, Clay, Noah, Jaxon; great-grandchildren, Baylen, Brooks, Blake, Cian; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
