Dolly Hill Whitaker, born September 9, 1937 in Pasadena, Texas, a resident of Diboll, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 21, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Edweenia Hill, of Pasadena, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Don Whitaker; son, Mark Fulsom and daughter in-law Dianne Fulsom of Dayton, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Kenney and son-in-law Dale Kenney of Mont Belvieu, Texas; granddaughters, Amber Barnwell and husband Mac, Hollie Evans and husband Daniel, Mystie Duthie and husband Alex; grandsons, Nicholas Kenney and girlfriend Keri McAdams, Kyle Kenney and wife Melanie, and Corey Kenney and wife Julie. She was a proud great-grandmother of 11. She left behind many other family members and dear friends.
Dolly was a graduate of Pasadena High School Class of 1955. She was employed at Unocal (formerly Union Oil of California) for 34 years. As a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church, she enjoyed being a member of the choir, along with her husband, Don. They also enjoyed singing church solos and duets. She was a longtime member of the Diboll Garden Club.
Dolly was loved and cherished by her family and many friends. Her beautiful smile was only a small part of the beautiful person she truly was. As Don so aptly put it, her natural beauty is exceeded only by the goodness of her heart.
Pallbearers will be Dale Kenney, Nicholas Kenney, Kyle Kenney, Corey Kenney, Lance Kenney, and Daniel Evans.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon prior to the services.
