Funeral services for Dixie Lee Hickman Humphrey, 71, of Diboll will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Brittain officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Humphrey was born December 2, 1946 in Diboll, Texas to the late Annis Myrtie (Anderson) and Donnivan Moody Hickman, and died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Humphrey was a lifetime resident of Diboll. She was well-known as a waitress in the Lufkin area, including Wursthaus, Silver Dollar, Roadhouse Café and the Brisket House, among others. Mrs. Humphrey was a Christian who worshiped with both the Pentecostal and Baptist faiths.
Survivors include her husband, L.D. Humphrey of Diboll; son, Todd Elliott of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Bridget and Anthony Sarver of Pollok; grandchildren, Kayla Elliott of Huntington, Mitchel Elliott of Pollok, Aaron Elliott Rush of Diboll, Collin Elliott of Andrews, Daniel Elliott of Huntington, Kayla Sarver of Pollok, and Matthew Sarver of Tyler; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Donnie Jo Mewborn and Tommie Fox.
Pallbearers will be Todd Elliott, Anthony Sarver, Ray Crawford, Zailyn Baptist, Aaron Elliott Rush, and Simon Mewborn.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
