Funeral services for Dixie Lynn Ditsworth, 78, of Pollok will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ditsworth was born September 7, 1939 in Galveston, Texas to the late Dorothy Dixie (Henderson) and Sibert Driscoll Gault, and died Thursday, February 1, 2018 in a local facility.
Mrs. Ditsworth graduated from La Porte High School and then lived most of her life in Pollok. She was a homemaker and took great pride in taking care of her home. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She especially loved her dogs. Mrs. Ditsworth attended Allentown Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Coy Dean Ditsworth and wife Teresa Lynn of Pollok; grandsons, Collin Ditsworth and wife Emily and Clayton Ditsworth, all of Lufkin; sister, Peg Pickens and husband Randy of Hendersonville, Tennessee; brother, Steve Gault and wife Pam of The Woodlands; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar E. “Buck” Ditsworth; and brother, Charles Gault.
Pallbearers will be Collin Ditsworth, Clayton Ditsworth, Travis Sparkman, David McCleod, Daniel Lakey, and Carrol Nash.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines,1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hospice in the Pines.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
