Dell Lumpkin

Funeral services for Dell Lumpkin, 89, of Lufkin will be held Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Aldredge Cemetery.

Mrs. Lumpkin was born May 28, 1936 in Wells, Texas to the late Gladys Mary (Vinson) and Carl Laferral Thompson, and died Friday, February 13, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Lumpkin resided in Lufkin most of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for 40 years. In her younger years she was a great athlete and very competitive, especially in volleyball. She was an avid quilter. She and her sisters met weekly to quilt and gossip. Mrs. Lumpkin was a member of Lancewood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Bee Lumpkin of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Deidre and Bill Ramsey of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sabrina Lumpkin; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Nell Crawford of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean and Jerry Reuter of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Doris Thompson of Flint, and Eugene and Linda Thompson of Wallisville; sister-in-law, Kathleen Oswalt of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jick Thompson and Tom Thompson; and brother-in-law, James Crawford.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ramsey, Matthew Ramsey, Cody Weisinger, Caleb Ramsey, Zachary Lumpkin, Garrett Ramsey, and Landon Ramsey.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the services.
