Memorial services for Debra Anne Witt, 70, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Draper Chapel of The Cross Church, 100 N 1st Street, Wylie Texas. Parking will be available on Marble Street. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Debra was born May 18, 1953 in Wooster, Ohio to Helen Marie (Welch) and Stephen Everett Parker, and died Friday, September 22, 2023 in a local hospital.
Debra worked as a machinist at Gulf Oil Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas and was a purchasing agent for BNR in Richardson, Texas until a work injury caused an early retirement. She married the love of her life, James Edward “Jim” Witt, in Lufkin on her birthday, they moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to raise their family, and they remained happily married for 52 years. Debra was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, James “Jim” Witt of Lufkin; daughter, Stephanie Witt Overton and husband Joe; sons, James “Bobby” Witt and wife Stephanie, Craig Witt and wife Kelley; grandchildren, Ellie Bise and Curtis, Stefan Horton and Sage, Chloe Witt and Ryan King, Shaye Horton and Brandon Wood, Tessa Green, Earl Green, Rylie Witt, Brooklyn Witt; great-grandchildren, Montana, Leo, Claire; mother, Helen Parker; brothers, Pat Parker, Tim Parker; nephews, Rich Parker, Adam Parker; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Parker; and brother, Bill Kuntz.
