Debbie Luce Pugh

Funeral services for Debbie Luce Pugh, 61, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart and Brother Adrian Neal officiating.  Interment will follow in Simpson Cemetery.

Mrs. Pugh was born January 10, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late R.V. (Johnson) and A.C. Luce. She died Friday, November 30, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Pugh was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had lived in Lufkin all her life and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pollok.  Mrs. Pugh had previously worked as a bookkeeper for Angelina Eye Center for more than 15 years. Debbie played college basketball at Trinity Valley Junior College and Sam Houston State University. She was on the All-Conference team at Sam Houston.

Survivors include her husband, Rex Pugh of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Lee Mahan of Lufkin; grandchildren, Riley and Brynlee Mahan of Lufkin; sisters, Doris Smith of Pollok, Edna Modisette and husband Dwain of Lufkin, and Billie Warnasch of Pollok; brothers, Tommy Luce and wife Gay of Tyler, Robert Luce and wife Marie of Pollok; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Cole Pugh and wife Candy of LaGrange, Georgia, Tracy Pugh of Jacksonville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Luce was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Alvie Lee and JoAnn Luce; and parents-in-law, Roy Pugh and Jeanne James.

Pallbearers will be Brig Luce, Michael Warnasch, Dannie Daniel, Logan Neal, Lee Mahan, and Daniel Pugh.

Honorary pallbearers are Greg Warnasch, Tammy and James Simms.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. James Buckingham.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
