Debbie Lea Byrum

Funeral services for Debbie Lea Byrum, 68, of Diboll (formerly of Corrigan) will be held Monday, April 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan with Brother David Wars officiating. Interment will follow in the Wheeler Cemetery.

Mrs. Byrum was born July 27, 1957 in Corrigan, Texas to the late Bobbie Jean (Tullos) and James Thomas Dorris, and passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Byrum lived most of her life in the Rock Island Community in Camden, Texas before moving to Diboll, Texas where she had resided for the last eight years. Mrs. Byrum was a devoted mother who cherished her children and enjoyed any time spent with her family, she found great joy in their laughter and lives. She truly enjoyed everything outdoors, embracing nature. She was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Langley of Crockett, Gerri Lea Carrico and spouse Royce of the Wakefield Community, and Jessica Byrum of Fairmont; son, Jake Byrum of Diboll; daughter-in-law, Michelle Byrum; grandchildren, Destiny Figueroa, Joshua Carrico, and Bree Carrico; great-grandchild, Cheyenne Figueroa; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy Wilkerson and James of Etolie; brother, Jerry Glenn Dorris of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Michael Byrum; sons, James “JJ” Byrum and Joshua Michael Byrum; and brother, James “Bubba” Dorris.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Carrico, Jerry Dorris, Mike Roy, Jerry Wilkerson, Cody Stanley, and James Wilkerson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home prior to the service.
