David Lawrence Whiddon

Funeral services for David Lawrence Whiddon, 68, of Lufkin will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Tabernacle Church, 190 Old Schoolhouse Road in Lufkin, with Brother Bobby Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

David was born December 27, 1953 in Tyler, Texas to the late Doris (Moore) and Milton “Bob” Whiddon, and passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in a hospital in The Woodlands, Texas.

David was a Project Estimator for Angelina Excavating for 21 years. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Whiddon of Lufkin; daughters, Amanda Martin and husband Ryan of Crockett, Anna Whiddon Burton and husband Patrick of New Caney; two grandchildren, Will Ryan Martin and Mason Martin; two great-grandchildren, Alice Martin and Gwendolynn Martin; brother, Robert Whiddon and wife Lou; sister, Sherrell Walker and husband Robert; fur baby, Ali Whiddon; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Dale Whiddon.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Martin, Patrick Burton, Will Ryan Martin, Rex Nerren, Mike Thigpen, and Chad Polasek.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
