Memorial services for David Frank Pedrotti, 74, of Lufkin will be held Monday, March 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church with Dr. John W. Greene officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
David Frank Pedrotti was born July 12, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charles and Josephine Pedrotti. He passed away at home Thursday, March 12, 2026 surrounded by family.
David’s grandparents had immigrated to the United States after WW1 from Italy and he had a unique experience of growing up in an Italian neighborhood in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri in the 1950s and 60s. After high school, David traveled around the country with friends, visiting many famous landmarks and points of interest. He then began a 44-year-long career in the sign industry working for prominent companies in both Missouri and Texas.
He was married to his first wife in 1978 and they had two children. They moved to Texas in 1983 after visiting the state several times and falling in love with the surroundings. He resided in Nacogdoches, Texas for 9 years and then in Lufkin, Texas for 34 years. He married his second wife Paula Burnett on August 9, 1992 and they made a life together with their blended families.
After almost 20 years with Spradley Signs of Nacogdoches, Texas, David started his own sign business, which he did for the next 5 years. But he never enjoyed being his own boss, so he went back to work for another local sign company for several years after that. He later “retired” but still worked for companies like Crown of Thorns Nursery, Real Graphics and Leal’s Landscaping & Sprinkler Systems and even did janitorial services at Harmony Hill Baptist Church. He very much liked to stay busy and active.
He was also a very involved member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church for 38 years. He was a member of the Disaster Relief team, doing chainsaw work, clean up and recovery work, and kitchen and food prep. David was a hard worker and quite the handy man and was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He always enjoyed being outdoors and in his younger years enjoyed a variety of sports, as well as water skiing, snow skiing, camping and sailing. He loved dogs, especially Brittany Spaniels. He showed his beloved dog Angel at several dog shows and even dabbled in dog breeding for a while in his 20s. He also enjoyed gardening and built his own greenhouse to grow vegetables and had a green thumb with a variety of plants and flowers.
He is survived by his wife of 33 ½ years, Paula Pedrotti of Lufkin, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Ben Harbuck of Lufkin, Texas; his son, Adam Pedrotti of Lufkin, Texas; his stepson, Terry Burnett and wife Karen of Wiley, Texas; and his stepson, Troy Burnett and Darla Faulkner of Huntsville, Texas. His seven grandchildren include: Megan and Ava Harbuck of Lufkin, Texas, Zander Harbuck of Houston Texas, Trevor, Travis and Kendall Burnett of Wiley, Texas, and Dillon Faye Burnett of Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Pedrotti of St. Louis, Missouri; his sister, Judy Petit of St. Louis, Missouri; his sister, Chrissy Wilson of Springfield, Missouri; and his brother, Ricky Pedrotti and wife Sandra of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sharon Kemp and husband Gary of Tomball, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers are Adam Pedrotti, Terry Burnett, Troy Burnett, Terry Bailey, Larry Jansen, and Dale Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harmony Hill Baptist Church High School Senior Scholarship Fund, 2708 S Chestnut Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
