Funeral services for David Kent Outlaw, 73, of Zavalla will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Ricky Stanford and Darrell Longino officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Outlaw was born October 26, 1945 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Mildred (Crain) and George Outlaw, and died Friday, December 14, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Outlaw was a lifelong resident of Zavalla. He enjoyed deer hunting and oversaw Wolf Hill Deer Lease. He had a 30-year career as a long-haul truck driver. He retired from Angelina County Bridge and Road Maintenance Department.
Survivors include his companion, Sheryl Vincent of Onalaska; stepdaughters, Christine Thorne of Groveton and Kathy Yost of Nebraska City, Nebraska; four step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; Tommy the cat and Angie the Heinz 57 dog, who were both deer lease rescues; and numerous friends, including Tommy Stanley who was like a brother from childhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Yvonne Outlaw; and all of his siblings, including Buddy and Burl.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home in Huntington.
