Visitation for David Brian “Mo” Oliver, 62, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home.
David Brian “Mo” Oliver was born May 29, 1963 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Peggy (Swor) and Harvey Glenn Oliver, and died Saturday, December 20, 2025 at his residence. He was a lifetime resident of Lufkin.
Mo Oliver was a rare and remarkable man whose kindness, warmth, and love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was genuinely sweet and kindhearted, treating every person he met with respect, compassion, and grace. Mo had a way of making people feel seen and valued, and because of that, he was loved by all who crossed his path.
At his core, Mo was a coach. Even after stepping away from the field, his heart never left the game or the people he mentored. He touched countless young lives as a coach of softball and baseball select teams, and his influence extended far beyond wins and losses. A gifted athlete himself, Mo excelled in high school and junior college baseball and later served as an assistant coach at Angelina College for more than ten years. He eventually made the selfless decision to leave coaching so he could be home more, focusing on what mattered most to him - his family.
Throughout his life, Mo worked in several different roles, but no matter where he was, he carried the heart of a coach with him - encouraging, guiding, and uplifting others.
Mo was a devoted and loving father to his two biological children, Cody Oliver and Karissa Oliver, and a proud stepfather to Jordan Rhodes and Brooke Rhodes, whom he loved as his own. He was a cherished grandfather to Presley Oliver, who brought him immense joy.
He was a devoted husband to Tiffany Oliver, and in January they would have celebrated eight years of marriage. Mo’s love for his family was unconditional, steady, and true. He could never go anywhere without running into someone he knew - evidence of the many lives he touched and the relationships he built over the years.
Mo was a good man, a loving father, a devoted husband, and a mentor to so many. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. The world is better for having had him in it, and his legacy of kindness, love, and coaching from the heart will live on through the many lives he shaped.
Mo is survived by his wife, Tiffany (Davis) Oliver; son Cody Oliver, daughter Karissa Oliver; stepdaughters, Jordan Rhodes and Brooke Rhodes; and granddaughter Presley Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
