David Layne Mcadams

David Layne McAdams, 52, of Lufkin died Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his residence. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lester Hutson officiating, followed by a reception in the Carroway Family Reception Room. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Burial of cremains will be in Whitehouse Cemetery.

David was born November 6, 1972 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Leveta (McDonald) and Kirby Lynville McAdams. He worked as a baker at Brookshire Brothers for more than 7 years. David was a good cook, but an excellent baker. He had a natural talent for both, where he almost never made something that everyone didn’t love.

David was primary caregiver for his parents for many years until their passing in 2000 and 2006. He was really good to them and had a kind heart. He enjoyed listening to country and gospel music to relax, as well as couponing and fishing. He was funny, quick witted, and had a dry sense of humor. He could tell good stories and entertain those willing to listen. You knew where his opinion stood, and he was always ready for conversation. David was a helpful and kind man and will be missed by many loved ones. He attended LifePoint Church.

Survivors include his brothers, Edward Dwayne McAdams and Joseph Wayne McAdams; aunts, May Ellon McAdams and Darlene Landrum; and cousins, Shaun McAdams, Erik McAdams, Ranleigh McAdams, Angela Prickett, Rebecca Levias, Cassandra Johnson, Tom Crawford, Tracy McDonald, Jerry McDonald, Jodie McAdams, and Ken McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
