David Shane Hughes

Graveside services for David Shane Hughes, 58, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 13 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Chaplain Greg Friejo officiating.

David was born July 22, 1962 in Michigan to Mary June (Pierson) Bowers and James “Jim” Hughes, and died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Lufkin.

David had resided at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center for 41 years. He loved stacking cones, listening to music and watching TV. His favorite thing was to sit on the front porch and receive good sunlight.  David loved social events and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Bowers of Tyler; father, James “Jim” Hughes of Georgia; step-brothers, Johnathan Bowers, Justin Bowers and Jeff Bowers, all of Tyler; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.
