David Andrew Howard

Memorial services for David Andrew Howard, 50, of Etoile will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Holland officiating. A reception will follow in the Carroway Family Reception Room. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

David was born July 4, 1974 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Vicki Lynn (Marshall) and Henry Andrew Howard, and died Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Urbana, Illinois.

On July 4, 1974, David Andrew Howard came into this world as the most precious thing Henry and Vicki Howard could’ve imagined. Appropriate that it was on a national holiday and all of America welcomed him to town with fireworks! Zavalla, Texas would never be the same.

David grew up playing baseball, hunting, and fishing…and anything that involved being in the outdoors. A few years later little brother Marshall came along and it didn’t take long for them to follow Henry on whatever adventure he had that day.

David became a daddy to his first born, Sarah, and welcomed Tyler, then Katy, the baby of the group. David was blessed with a great love twice in life, with the mother of his children, Brandi, and then his wife Jan, whom he married in 2012. He then gained another son, Gage, and they enjoyed life as a family of six.

David spent his time fishing, deer hunting, hog hunting with many special friends, and teaching his knowledge of trapping to all who would listen. He especially loved heading into the woods with his nephew, Neches, to spend some quality time.

David made many new friends as the owner of David Howard Construction; as well as admirers in trapping forums all across the US.

He lived and loved in such big ways and never met a stranger. He loved God, America, and family.

David is survived by his wife, Jan Howard; daughters, Sarah Howard and Katy Howard; son, Tyler Howard and wife, Maegan; son, Gage Guerrero and fiancée Sandi; and his first grandbaby, a girl named S. J., making her appearance in October. He is also survived by his brother, Marshall Howard.
