David A. Deane

Family graveside services for David A. Deane, 81, of Missouri City, Texas, will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.

Mr. Deane was born June 24, 1936 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Katherine Francis (Fondren) and Thornton Clarence Deane. He died Thursday, June 14, 2018 in a Sugar Land hospital.

Mr. Deane was a self-employed real estate investor. He was raised in Lufkin, and had lived in the Houston area for much of his life. He had a passion for chemistry, physics, and biology. Mr. Deane was also a musician and played Dixieland jazz on his trumpet. He enjoyed listening to classical music and playing tennis.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sarina Lynn Deane and William James Kimmel of Missouri City; sons, Richard Lee Deane of Dallas and Michael Albert Deane of Missouri City; grandsons, Sonny Michael Willert-Deane and William Draven Kimmel, both of Missouri City; sister, Shirley Ruth Deane of Lufkin; mother of his children, Rita Jennings of Tucson, Arizona; nieces, Lisa Kay McGilvra Mahan of Austin, Gina McGilvra Sawyer of Richardson, and Pam L. McGilvra of Lufkin; great-nieces, Ashley Kay Guerra and Kelley Jo Sawyer; great-nephews, Richard Brandon Bingham, Ryan Paul Bingham, Stone McGilvra Sawyer, and Rhett Ownby Sawyer; cousins, Dorothy Deane of Miami, Florida and Darrell Fondren of Beaumont; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma K. McGilvra; and brother-in-law, Paul McGilvra.

Pallbearers will be Richard Deane, Michael Deane, William J. Kimmel, Richard Brandon Bingham, Ryan Paul Bingham, and Sonny Willert-Deane.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
