David Linton Burch

David Linton Burch, 74, of Hudson died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at his residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Burch was born December 10, 1950 in Austin, Texas to the late Virginia Pearl (Hagans) and Clyde W. Burch.

Mr. Burch served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from Polk Oil Co. where he was a truck driver for many years. He was very proud of his military service and for being a Marine. God and Country maintained the core of his personality; however he was most proud of his kids and always strived to do the best he could for them, providing a home and place where love was abound. And of course he loved Janie. Whether they were watching TV or tandem driving through Canada, he loved every minute of his life with her.

He loved to make people smile. Not only to make them laugh but would outright ask them because he knew how good it is for people to be happy. He put God first in his life and made faith and prayer a priority with himself and his family. He was such a good man, and the best gift in our lives.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Marie (Sterling) Burch of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jenna Harper of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Garry Treadway of Zavalla; grandchildren, Devin Harper of Zavalla, Michael Millard of Lufkin, Delayna Ploof and husband Brian of Warroad, Minnesota, and Nicholas Millard of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Penelope Ploof, Parker Ploof, and Phoebe Ploof, all of Warroad, Minnesota; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Gilbert Lavender, Ginger and Tommy Lanehart, all of Bryan, and Debbie Kay; and numerous precious nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Auvey Spear Burch and Larry Burch; and sisters, Linda Call and Terry Rodgers.
