Darrell G. Belt

Funeral services for Darrell G. Belt, 66, of Hudson will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby.

Mr. Belt was born March 29, 1959 in Kountze, Texas to the late Alice Francis (Wells) and David Edward Belt, and died Wednesday, July 16, 2025 in The Woodlands, Texas.

Mr. Belt was a teacher at Hudson ISD and coached at Oakwood and Cushing for a combined 35-plus years. He loved being outside and riding his dog Otis around in his golf cart. He enjoyed grilling, woodworking and loved giving gifts at Christmas and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Belt was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice (Peterson) Belt of Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Haylee Belt of Hudson, and Cameron and Megan Belt of Lufkin; grandchildren, Greyson Belt, Augie Belt, and Cohen Belt; siblings, Diadra Henderson of Lindale, Dale Belt of Silsbee, D’Juana Moore Guzman of Houston, Denise Moore Patrick of Seabrook, and Dean Belt of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Belt.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Belt, Cameron Belt, Glen Kimble, Richie Crenshaw, Doug Hines, and Gary Stephenson.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Greyson, Augie and Cohen Belt.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
