Darla Kaye Runnels

Funeral services for Darla Kaye Runnels, 60, of Pollok will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Bickley officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Darla was born August 28, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas to Annette (Chambers) and Kenneth Runnels, and died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in a local hospital.

Darla had resided in the Lufkin area all of her life. She retired as the IT Manager after working at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center for over 30 years. She loved going to the beach and going on cruises. She enjoyed traveling and was always ready to go do something. Darla liked playing card games and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. She loved her family dearly and she was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Annette and Ernie Teer of Lufkin; father, Kenneth Runnels of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother, Kevin Runnels and wife Lynn of Pollok; sisters, Denese Runnels of Lufkin, Leigh Ann Hughes and husband Jimmy of Lufkin, Karey Lookadoo and husband Steve of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Shelley Duchesne and Tracey Runnels Duchesne, both of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Jan Sheridan and husband Bubba of Longview; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Jessica and Dustin Hill, Meghan Runnels, Zachary Runnels, Lauren and Dustin Dees, Ophelia Duchesne, Bryan Tucker, Amy and Josh Howe, Andrew Hughes, and Morgan Hughes; one great-niece; four great-nephews; best friend and caregiver, Sharon Mullins of Pollok; special friends, Lanita Loving of Lufkin and Jeff Loving of Beaumont; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Pam Runnels; and grandparents, H.O. “Shorty” and Nina Mae Chambers and T.J. and Nona Lee Runnels.

Pallbearers will be Steve Lookadoo, Dustin Hill, Jimmy Hughes, Josh Howe, Jeff Loving, and Zachary Runnels.
