Danny Knox Bowman passed away peacefully Monday, October 20, 2025, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
Born on July 17, 1953 in Jacksonville, Texas, to Knox and Dorothy “Luddy” (Vaughn) Bowman, Danny lived a life full of laughter, music, and love. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend - the kind of man who could make a room light up with his smile and a song on his guitar. His voice and music brought comfort and joy to everyone around him, and his gentle heart left a lasting mark on those who knew him.
Danny shared a beautiful life with his wife of 54 years, Lynda (Weisinger) Bowman, and together they built a family grounded in love. He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Marie Pierce and husband Jason Pierce; his siblings, John Bowman and wife Teresa Bowman, Becky Byrd and husband Hugh Byrd, Seleta Hart; his sister-in-law, Marvana Cook; and his brothers-in-law, Lanny Carnley and wife Liz and Butch Carnley and wife Carol.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Knox and Dorothy “Luddy” Bowman; his siblings, David Bowman and Benita Bowman; his brother-in-law, Larry Cook; his brother-in-law, Larry Hart; his mother-in-law, Maxine Jones; his mother-in-law, Bernice Weisinger; and his cherished daughter, Jennifer Lea Bowman.
Danny’s legacy continues through his grandchildren - Hagen, Westen, and Jase Pierce - and his precious great-grandchildren, Haisley and Palmer Pierce, who brought him endless joy and pride.
Those who knew Danny will remember his kind spirit, his love for singing and playing the guitar, and the way he made every family gathering feel special. He was the heart of his family - steady, patient, and full of love. Though his songs here have ended, the melody of his life will continue to play on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Pallbearers will be Jason Cook, Mason Ford, Casey Ford, Will Pounds, Ruben Terrazas, and Kelly Hyde.
Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Carnley, Phil Thomas, Lanny Carnley, Keith Lewing, Billy Royce McClendon, and Lance Pounds.
