A memorial visitation for Dana Kristen Schmidt, 43, of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Private burial of cremated remains will be held in the Largent Cemetery.

Dana Kristen, born November 17, 1973 in Lufkin, Texas died unexpectedly due to complications August 24, 2017 at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.

Dana Kristen, a mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, touched the heart of everyone she met with laughter and joy.

She is survived by her husband, Eric Schmidt; daughter, Sophia Schmidt; mother-in-law, Carol Schmidt; brother and sister-in-law, Kurt and Zrinka Schmidt; father, Bobby Short; mother and stepfather, Jonnie and Tommy Hollingsworth; sisters, Stacy Short and Bobbie Dee Ann Silva; brother, Randall Fee and fiancé Valory Calderon; special friends, Leigh Anne Johnson and Jeff Jenkins; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
