Dalton Ray Ferrill

Funeral services for Dalton Ray Ferrill, 20, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Dalton was born September 25, 1998 in Picayune, Mississippi, and died Sunday, May 26, 2019 in Texon, Texas, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Dalton resided in Lufkin most of his life and was a 2017 graduate of Lufkin High School. He worked as a pumping operator for Raider Pressure Pumping Services. Dalton was a friend who had many friends. He enjoyed being a “lady’s man” and was known for his joking and kidding, as well as his “big heart”. Dalton and his mom were very close and were known to stay in touch even though he worked away from East Texas in the oil industry.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Katrina (Carden) and Steven Kruithof of Diboll; father and stepmother, Jason Carl, Sr. and Sandra Ferrill of Diamond Head, Mississippi; brothers, Jason Carl “Jay” Ferrill, Jr. of Lufkin, Luke Ferrill of Diamond Head, Mississippi, and KJ Kruithof of Lufkin; niece, Lexi Ferrill; grandparents, Linda and Jack Ferrill of Moss Point, Mississippi; step-grandparents, James and Mary Kruithof, Linda Dickerson, all of Shreveport, Louisiana, Toni and Albert Davis of Slidel, Louisiana; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tammie and Isaac “Jr.” Weaver; great-grandmother, Nellie T. Kell; and aunts, Virginia Weaver and Barbara Dupre.

Pallbearers will be Jason Ferrill, Jr., Luke Ferrill, Devon Kruithof, Jamie Kruithof, Tyler McCullough, Robert Stephens, Mason Marcus, Dalvin Smith, and Joshua Smith.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
