Cynthia Lynn Nichols, lovingly known to most as Mammy, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2025 at 10:28 a.m., with her devoted daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was 66 years old and lived a full, beautiful life filled with love, strength, and joy.
Mammy was strong, independent, and tough, yet her greatest qualities were her boundless love, her caring heart, and her deep understanding of others. She and her husband built a life together on their farm, where she cherished every moment - whether caring for cattle or welcoming her grandchildren who came to visit. Family was always at the center of her world. Her presence alone could light up any room, and her love for her children and grandchildren knew no limits. She was endlessly proud of them, finding joy in every milestone and moment spent together. To know Mammy was to know kindness, warmth, true strength and the comfort of unconditional love. She was truly a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Mammy was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 36 years, Mark Nichols, and her dear mother, Gloria Alexander. She leaves behind her father, Hilton Alexander of Mont Belvieu, Texas; her sister, Monica, and husband Glenn Arnold of La Porte, Texas; and her best friend of 60 years and maid of honor, Cindy Smith of League City, Texas. She is also survived by her daughters: Carissa and husband Ronald Cox of Texas City, Texas, and their children Chelsie Nichols, Grayson Cox, and Carter Cox; and her daughter Michelle Nichols of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, and her children Triniti Moore and Mark Moore and his daughter Vivian Moore. Granddaughter, Tammy and Tyler Bledsoe.
Mammy’s legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
