Curtis Wayne Grimes

Funeral services for Curtis Wayne Grimes, 67, of the Beulah Community will be held Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment will follow in the Grimes Cemetery.

Mr. Grimes was born November 14, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas to Curtis Calvin and Earline (Scarborough) Grimes. He left this world Friday, March 9, 2018.

Mr. Grimes resided in the Beulah Community of Angelina County, Texas his entire life. He was an expert welder and could do the work of three men. Mr. Grimes was a self-professed river rat and loved racing his boat out on the water. He could always be found out on his tractor tending the pasture and working cows. Being out on his land brought him great joy, he was truly connected to it.

He leaves behind his daughters and sons-in-law, Candy and Gus Wienhold of Georgetown and Carrie and Wes Barbour of Austin; granddaughter, Dylan Wienhold; grandson, Bo Wienhold; mother, Earline Grimes of Baytown; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jim Love of Highlands; sister-in-law, Judy Grimes of Beulah; nephews and their wives, Bobby and Sharon Grimes, Kyle and Marcie Grimes, Bronson and Susan Grimes, Kaylon Grimes, Curtis Griffin and Kevin Griffin; and special friends, Melvin Linton, Skeeter Scarborough, Mark Thompson and Harold Moore.

He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Calvin Grimes; and brother, Freddy Lee Grimes.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Grimes, Bronson Grimes, Kyle Grimes, Curtis Griffin, Bo Wienhold, and Melvin Linton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Skeeter Scarborough, Mark Thompson and Harold Moore.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
