Corine Cleere Davis

Funeral services for Corine Cleere Davis, 87, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Hedges and Brother Charles Roberts officiating.  Interment will follow in Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born September 21, 1931 in Hunt County, Texas, the daughter of the late Elizabeth “Lizzie” Rhodes Cleere and K.C. Cleere. She died Thursday, September 27, 2018 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Davis was retired from Lufkin I.S.D. following more than 20 years employment as an accounts payable clerk. She was also a homemaker and a beloved, wife, mother, sister and friend. Mrs. Davis had been a resident of Lufkin since 1968 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, taking care of her yard, quilting and cooking.

Survivors include her daughter, Suzie Swan of Euless; twin sister, Lorine Ellis of Terrell; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Doug Johnson of Stephenville; sister-in-law, Robbie Cleere of Huntsville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Davis; and brothers, Odis Cleere, Otho Cleere, and Clifton Cleere.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Davis’ nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Marvin Slusher, Stephen Rhoades, Daniel Rhoades, Mark Brantner, Jordan Robinson, Mark Jenkins, Dick McKay, Brad Bell, and Miko Hales.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
