Funeral services for Colt Reid Allen, 17 months, of Diboll will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Van Johnson officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Our angel, Colt, precious son of Lee and Desirae Allen went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
Colt was born on February 22, 2019 in Lufkin. When you met Colt you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. His beautiful blue eyes and infectious smile brightened every room he was in. Colt loved to laugh and make his sisters laugh at his goofy antics. One of his favorite pastimes was making his mama take him outside to see the cows. He loved being outside, splashing in water, dancing to music, or getting slobbery kisses from his dog, Nala. The thing that the family will miss most of all was the way Colt snuggled. When he hugged you, he did it with his whole heart.
Colt came into this world a warrior. At just four months old he had his first open heart surgery and went on to have a second one just a few short months later. The family would like to thank the team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and all the medical staff at Texas Children’s Hospital for all the love and care shown during their stays.
He is survived by the best big sisters, Emilee and Brooklyn Allen; father and mother, Lee and Desirae Allen; grandparents, Alice and Van Johnson, Michael Smith, Ricky and Delisa Allen; great-grandma, Norma Smith; uncles and aunts, Derek and Jessica Smith, Rhett and Sarah Smith, JC Allen; and many loving cousins, family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Rhett Smith and Derek Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Laubert and Justin Helton.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, www.rmhc.org , RMH of Houston, Inc., 1907 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030 or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org , 10900-B Stonelake Blvd. Suite 320, Austin, Texas 78759 in Colt Allen’s name.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the service.
