Cleola Durham Richard

Homegoing services for Cleola Durham Richard, 71, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mack O. Page officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Ms. Richard was born September 14, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Ermie (Frazier) and Zack Durham, and died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her residence.

Ms. Richard was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She worked in Food Services at Stephen F. Austin State University and Lufkin ISD and she also worked for Gilbert Spring Attorney. She enjoyed watching western movies, traveling - especially going to gospel concerts, cooking and she loved being involved in charities. Her favorite pastime was fishing, and she was a staunch Dallas Cowboy fan. Ms. Richard was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Tara Richard of Lufkin; son, Benoit Richard, Jr. of Lufkin; brothers, Robert Durham and Leroy Durham; sisters, Irma Jean McClain and Georgia Mays; former husband and father of her children, Benoit Richard Sr. of Gladewater; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and four sisters.

Pallbearers will be Jay Taylor, Chris Durham, Clifford Gardner, and Lester Gardner.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
