Claudia Jean "Jeannie" Walton

Graveside services for Claudia Jean “Jeannie” Walton, 67, of Huntington will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in Treadwell Cemetery with Brother Bob Baggett officiating.

Jeannie was born August 3, 1959 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Wilo Dean (Boyett) and Horace Walton, and died Monday, September 21, 2026 at her residence.

Jeannie grew up in San Augustine, Texas and later moved to Huntington, where she resided most of her life. Jeannie was not afraid of work and worked at various jobs throughout her life. In her younger years she worked at Sue Anne’s, a restaurant in Huntington. Later she worked at Sears, Brookshire Brothers, Bole’s, and The Pet Beauty Shop. She also took on cleaning jobs, along with sitting with and taking care of the elderly. Jeannie also had several hobbies, including playing the guitar, listening to country music, walking her dog, and writing poetry. She was always willing to help others in their time of need and had kind and loving words to say to others. She loved her family and her grandkids and loved giving big hugs. She made sure to keep every little keepsake that she possibly could. Jeannie enjoyed attending Little Flock Baptist and listening to Pastor Hazell preach.

Survivors include her son, Blake Kvale; daughter, Ashley Johnson; grandchildren, Edward Kvale, Elizabeth Kvale, Evelyn Kvale, Emily Kvale, Conner Johnson, Madison Johnson; brother, Max Walton; sisters, Connie Baggett, Melvie Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Willo Dean Walton; and uncle, Tom Brown.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Johnson, Blake Kvale, Garrett Innerarity, Cayden Innerarity, Conner Johnson, and Edward Kvale.
