Funeral services for Clarence Gene Colquitt, Sr., 72, of Moscow will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church Corrigan with Pastor Michael Hood, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Colquitt was born August 19, 1953 in Camden, Texas to the late Teacy (Cuffie) and Clarence Colquitt, and died Monday, March 23, 2026 in a local hospital.
Mr. Colquitt enjoyed the open road and traveled countless miles, especially when behind a semi-truck. Driving wasn’t just his job; he truly loved it. He was employed by Eaton Logging and Hughes Trucking. Mr. Colquitt loved to dance and had a joyful spirit that came alive at the sound of music whether at a family gathering, a birthday party or if he was just enjoying the moment. He was a member of Evans Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Colquitt of Moscow; daughters, Ayesha McQueen of Corrigan and Johnniea Armstead of Saudi Arabia; grandchildren, Wesley Wooten, Sr., Daryus Wooten, Tazanus Colquitt, Darrien Steele, and Ramiko Colquitt; great-grandchildren, Wesley Wooten, Jr., Trenton Wooten, Kayla Wooten, and Darhyia Wooten; brother, Don Ash of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; son, Clarence Gene Colquitt, Jr.; five brothers; and five sisters.
Pallbearers will be his family.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the Family Life Center prior to the service.
