Graveside services for Christopher “Little Chris” Hughes, Jr., 32, of Etoile will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Simpson Campground Cemetery in Nacogdoches County with Pastor Barry Rankin officiating.
Mr. Hughes was born February 25, 1986 in Springfield, Missouri to Shelly (Rager) Carson and Christopher Lynn Hughes, Sr., and died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Hughes was a Climber and Cutter for Tree Works Tree Service. He enjoyed climbing trees, fishing, and woodworking, and he could make just about anything. He never met a stranger and had many friends. He was very loved, and he loved his wife and kids most of all. Mr. Hughes attended Woden United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Devon Charise Hughes of Etoile; daughter, Hannah Lynn Hughes of Etoile; sons, Hunter Draden Hughes and James Turner Hughes, both of Etoile; father and stepmother, Chris Hughes, Sr. and Alice Marie Rand of Lufkin; mother, Shelly Carson of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Jessica Lynn Hughes of Lufkin; stepbrother, Christopher Adam Hughes of Missouri; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rodney and Tonia Lampin of Woden; brother-in-law, Joshua Lampin of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Jennifer Lampin of Woden; five uncles; three aunts; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Josh Lampin, Robbie Wallace, Trey Ballard, Rodney Holland, Ben Ballard, John Daigle, Danny Hamilton, and Scott Phillips.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
