Mrs. Krenek was born April 5, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Billie Joe (Hughes) and Charles Downing Lewis, and died Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Houston.
Charlotte spent 67 of her 68 years as a resident in Lufkin. The year she moved away, she met the love of her life, Charles Krenek in Bay City. Charlotte and Charles moved back to Lufkin where she continued her teaching career and were active members of First Assembly of God Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and “LOVIE” to her grandchildren. Charlotte taught in many school districts in the surrounding areas, including Huntington ISD, Kennard ISD, Wells ISD, and Word of Life Schools. She will be remembered for her sweet, kind soul, and her strong faith in the Lord served as an inspiration to so many people. After retiring Charlotte spent most of her time volunteering and mentoring troubled adults at Narcotics Anonymous, The Dream Center, and The Most Excellent Way. She often said that the work she did at those facilities made her the proudest.
