Memorial services for Charlotte Jo Jeanette Dean, 77, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Will Harrell officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dean was born November 18, 1942 in Robeline, Louisiana to the late Sadie Lou (Dockens) and Robert Perry Matthews, and died Sunday, November 15, 2020 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Dean graduated from Robeline High School and resided in Lufkin most of her adult life. She was a devoted, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and was gifted at meeting the needs of her family, regardless of their need. She cherished the influence that her parents had on her life and spoke of them often.
Mrs. Dean was a Christian and attended services for many years with her family in Churches of Christ. Since 2015 she had faithfully attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Ray, Jr. and Paula.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Evelyn and Chuck Berry of Lufkin and Annette Dean of Katy; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Ray, Jr. and Paula Dean of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Bobby Ray III and Laura Dean of Hudson, David and Stephanie Weir of Lake Jackson, Michael Thornton, Christopher and Hannah Thornton, Tyler Wenzel, all of Lufkin, Khristina and Michael Teer of Central, and Keather (Flowers) and Roy Dalton of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Kamryn Weir, Kyndzi Weir, Jacob Dean, Andrew Dean, Denise Dean, Olivia Dean, Adam Dean, Christian Teer, Gunner Teer, Morgan Flowers, Alric Flowers, Kaden Thornton, Damian Oates, Kayson Thornton, Jackson Laney, and Isaac Leo Thornton; sister, Mary Santore of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother, George Matthews of Natchitoches, Louisiana; her chihuahua, Elvis and dachshund, Cash; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bobby Ray Dean, Sr.
