With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charlotte Faye (Jeffers) Wright, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord on Monday, July 13, 2026 at the age of 88.
Mrs. Wright was born February 20, 1938 in Odessa, Texas to the late Myrtle (Boykin) and Martin Jeffers.
Charlotte was a devoted Christian whose life reflected her deep and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She was a faithful prayer warrior who believed in the power of prayer and faithfully lifted up her family, friends, and even strangers before the Lord. Her trust in God was evident in every season of life, and she inspired others through her grace, compassion, and steadfast faith.
One of Charlotte’s greatest joys was cooking for those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and fellowship, where everyone was welcomed with a delicious meal, baked goods, and a loving heart. She found true happiness in serving others, always putting the needs of her family, friends, and community before her own. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a kind word, or a helping hand, she showed God’s love in countless ways.
Charlotte will be remembered for her generous spirit, gentle heart, unwavering faith, and unconditional love. Her legacy of kindness, service, and devotion to Christ will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randy Hendry of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Connie Wright of Corrigan; sons-in-law, Clarence Mitchamore and Jerry Hoot both of Corrigan; grandchildren and spouses, Jerry Hoot, Melissa and Derick Smith, Angela and Lance Herchman, Julie McGinty and John Hoot, Lydia and Zach Guess, Chelsea and Mathias Knight, Jennifer Dunn, Randall Hendry, and Jeff and Beckey Hendry; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Wright; daughters, Carolyn Sue Mitchamore and Mary Hoot; and great-grandson, Cason Bryce Herchman.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Jeffers, Jimmy Wright, Chad Wright, Matt Jeffers, Jerry Hoot, Lance Herchman, D.J. Smith, and Brandon Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hendry, John Wright, Clarence Mitchamore, Derick Smith, Jerry Hoot, Sr., John Curtis Hoot, Michael Wright, Jerry Jeffers, Zach Guess, and Mathias Knight.
Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the promise that she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. Her life reminds us of the words from Jeremiah 17:7-8 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning at the church prior to the services.
