Charles W. "Chuck" Stewart, Jr.

Charles W. “Chuck” Stewart, Jr., 85, of Lufkin died Thursday, November 2, 2023 in a local hospital. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Chuck was born on May 27, 1938 in Gary, Indiana to the late Esther Hansen and Charles W. Stewart. He lived in Indiana most of his life but moved back to Lufkin in 2004 after living in California for over 20 years prior to that. His first and most important love was for his wife of over 64 years, but also lived and breathed the game of golf and played at least three times a week with a group of great friends. He also took up the talent of woodworking that he learned from his father and made beautiful bowls, vases and plates for many.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Pat” Stewart; and his children and their spouses, Debra Kay (Stewart) and Shawn Gardner of Diamondhead, Mississippi; Tony Stewart of Vancouver, Washington; Tami (Stewart) and Lee Musick of Lufkin, Texas; and John and Michele Stewart of Lemoore, California.

He also had six grandchildren he loved tremendously, Sean and Matt Loughlin, Wesley Musick and wife Roxanne, Daniel Musick and wife Sarina, and Mason Musick and wife Brianna, and Bridgette Kolb and husband Lance; and he adored his six great grandchildren; Axel Musick, Parker Musick, Finley and Emery Loughlin, and Jaxson and Hayden Stewart. He always loved watching the kids play sports including baseball, soccer, and basketball.

Chuck had two brothers and one sister he was very close to, Richard Stewart and wife Janet of Elkhart, Indiana, Jim Stewart and wife Carolyn of Riverside, California, and Susan Stone of Elkhart, Indiana; and he also had many nieces and nephews.
