Charles Ray Mcdonald

Funeral services for Charles Ray McDonald, 77, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Knight and Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M.

Mr. McDonald was born February 12, 1941 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Virginia Althea (Tiller) and Albert Lester McDonald, and died Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. McDonald was a lifelong resident of Angelina County. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Texas Department of Transportation, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M., and a member of Chestnut Drive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Genevia Foster McDonald of Lufkin; sons, Danny Harold McDonald and Michael Shane McDonald, both of Arkansas; daughter, Dorothy Lanay Bozeman of Arkansas; stepsons, Ray Christopher Montes and wife Theresa of Beaumont, Dale Patrick Montes and wife Renee’ and Jason Mathew Montes and wife Suzette, all of Lufkin; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Thomas of Lufkin and Inez Peterson of Garland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Charles Ray McDonald, Jr., Larry Wayne McDonald, and Eric Todd McDonald; daughter, Kathy Alline McDonald; great-granddaughter, Kayden Yielding; and brother, Orville Lester McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Montes, Danny McDonald, Michael McDonald, Dylan McDonald, Eric Montes, Jeremy Montes, Cody Montes, and Tanner Montes.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
