Charles Garner Mcalister

Funeral services for Charles Garner McAlister, 67, of Lufkin will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scotty Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Largent Cemetery.

Mr. McAlister was born December 26, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Nancy (Reeves) and Champ McAlister, and died Monday, May 29, 2023 in a Houston hospital. He served in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Lily McAlister; daughters, Cara Blair and Elya McAlister; sons, Jacob McAlister and Judah McAlister; granddaughters, Kyleigh Blair and fiancé Cory Snowden, and Emily Blair; grandson, Pierce King; nephews and spouses, Michael Ray Lovejoy, Alton, Jr. and Cindy Lovejoy, Brian and Kristen Lowery; niece and spouse LeeAnn and Wesley Stephens; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Martha Lowery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ray Lovejoy, Alton Lovejoy, Jr., Brian Lowery, Cory Snowden, Brian Blair, and Willie Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Pike Electric, James Ray Dunn, Carl Wayne White, Phillip Glawson, and Kent Oates.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
