Graveside services for Charles Lovett, 87, of Huntington will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rocky Springs/Old Center Cemetery in Huntington with Jay Thornton officiating.
Mr. Lovett was born September 13, 1937 in Huntington, Texas to the late Ethel Faye (York) and Ivy Timothy Lovett, and died Monday, June 1, 2025 at his residence.
Charles graduated from Huntington High School with the Class of ’56 and resided in Huntington most of his life. He worked for Southland, St. Regis, Champion, and Donahue for more than 30 years combined. He retired as a Store Room Clerk. Charles loved fishing and hunting and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Lovett of Huntington; sons, Ted Allen and wife Camille of Huntington, Kerry Royce Lovett of Strawberry, Arizona, Michael Lovett of Porter; stepson, Gene Thornton of Brookeland, stepdaughter, Nita Brasher and husband Kevin of Lufkin; stepson, Scott Thornton and wife Cecelia Thornton of Lufkin; stepson, Jay Thornton and wife Natalie of Lufkin; son-in-law, Allen Adams of Lufkin; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, James A. Lovett and wife Beverly, Gerald Lovett, all of Huntington; sisters, Judy Alexander and husband Jim of Lufkin, Margie Clark of Huntington; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Terrye Lynn Adams; granddaughter, Tara Adams; first wife, Gracie Lovett, mother of Terrye Lynn, Ted and Kerry; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Paul Bonner, Dolores and Jack Elliott, Jennifer Randall; and brother-in-law, Gene Clark.
