Graveside services with military honors for Charles R. Anderson, 86, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rocky Hill Cemetery with Brother Steve Cowart officiating.
Mr. Anderson was born October 18, 1932 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Etta (Morehead) and Clarence Anderson, and died Saturday, June 15, 2019 in Lufkin.
Mr. Anderson resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Anderson retired from Lufkin Industries and was long time self employed in his welding and sheet metal shop. He enjoyed gardening, planting and watching things grow. Mr. Anderson enjoyed making syrup with friends. His favorite pastime was reading. Mr. Anderson was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his daughters, Daphne Van Eman and husband Paul of Lufkin and Alicia Anderson of Huntington; son, Sam Anderson of Hudson; grandchildren, Jennifer Scott and husband Bob, Clay Van Eman and wife Britni, and Alicia Kay Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kristin Scott, Kylie Scott, Madison Van Eman and Ty Van Eman; brother, Donnis Anderson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bennie Clary and Juanita Moore; and many close cousins and friends.
The family extends special thanks to the staffs of Neches House and Affinity Hospice for their care of Mr. Anderson.
