Funeral services for Cecilia Ann (Smith) Wallace, 76, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Wallace was born December 7, 1942 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Geraldine Ruth (Bonnett) and Cecil Harold Smith, and died Sunday, June 23, 2019 in a Dallas hospital.

Mrs. Wallace resided in Nacogdoches until she married Sammy Wallace August 13, 1961, then they made their home in Lufkin. Later in life she moved to Rockwall to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She worked in the carpet and flooring business for 20 years.

In high school, Mrs. Wallace played the flute in the band. She liked playing piano and enjoyed going out dancing. More recently, at night, she liked to stay up late with her group of friends who were dubbed the “night critters”. And she always liked to shop!

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Paula Wallace; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Donnie Harrison; grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Lilia Harrison, Samuel Wallace, Hope Wallace and Josue Ramirez, and Caden and Cassidy Jones; great-grandchildren, Emilia Harrison and Itai Ramirez; brother, Nolan Smith; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Sammy Wallace.

Pallbearers will be Caden Wallace, Brian Harrison, Donnie Harrison, Carl Wallace, Glen Wallace, and Jack Murff.

The family extends special thanks to her caregivers and close friends Jacky Samples and Michelle Rusch.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.
