Cassie Janette (Stringer) Guerrero, 41, of Lufkin, left this earthly home to enter heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 19, 2025. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Carroway Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church Diboll. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery.
Cassie was born to Gwen and Dusty Stringer on January 10, 1984, in Lufkin, Texas. Cassie was raised in the Hudson–Lufkin community and lived there all her life. Following a courageous battle with cancer, her passing was peaceful as she was surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband of 14 years.
Cassie was steady and faithful, known for her quiet strength, ready smile, and deep commitment to truth. A devoted member of Diboll First Assembly of God, she lived out her faith through service and love for others. For her entire life, she joyfully shared the gospel—performing skits at church, serving on mission trips to Russia and Ukraine, spending college summers working at a camp for inner-city children, and teaching children’s church. Her devotion to family, missions, and service carried into every season of her life; she was the one her family leaned on—the dependable presence who always showed up with calm resolve and loving care.
Cassie earned her teaching degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU), where she further developed her gift for friendship and service. After returning to Lufkin, she began her career as a kindergarten teacher and later a first-grade teacher, pouring patience, kindness, and encouragement into her students' lives. Teaching was more than a profession for Cassie—it was a calling, and her gentle influence left a lasting impact on countless children and families.
Shortly after beginning her career, Cassie met her husband, John, and his young daughter, Ava. Together, they built a family grounded in strength and faith, eventually welcoming the other leading man in her life, her son, Luke. While Cassie served in many roles, being a mother was her greatest joy. She raised Luke to be strong, respectful, and caring, creating a home marked by love, faith, and purpose. Cassie lived her faith with the quiet understanding that life was not meant to be lived alone, always making room for God’s Spirit to guide her work, her family, and her heart.
