Carolyn Jean Mcrae

Carolyn Jean McRae, 73, of Lufkin died Saturday, February 8, 2025 at her residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Ms. McRae was born February 6, 1952 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Bobbie Jean (Barnett) and John Thomas Morton.

She was a loving mother, sister and daughter, was a very helpful person, and loved to bake and spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching western movies and sewing. Ms. McRae believed in the Lord, even if she kept most of it to herself.

Survivors include her son, Michael McRae of Lufkin; granddaughters, Adrianna McRae of Marshall and Veronica McRae of Lufkin; grandsons, Michael McRae, Jr. of Lufkin, Steven Earl Williams of Diboll, and Christian “CJ” McRae of Lufkin; great-grandsons, Adonis Armstead, Finn Dean, and Ace Dean; sisters, Linda Allred and Dianne Lamon; brother, Ronald Morton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Samantha McRae; and brother, Jimmy Morton.
