Carolyn Lyles Cummings

Funeral services for Carolyn Lyles Cummings, 71, of Zavalla will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Dr. John W. Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Old North Church Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.

Ms. Cummings was born September 28, 1946 in Demopolis, Alabama to the late Myrtie (Jowers) and Tony Lyles, and died Friday, October 6, 2017 in a Houston hospital.

A former resident of Lufkin, Ms. Cummings had resided in Zavalla for 15 years. She was a cashier at Walmart for 15 years and loved working there. She was a member Harmony Hill Baptist Church, and loved her church and church family.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Shane Atwood of Zavalla; grandsons, Michael Reynolds of Houston and Jeremy Sullivan and wife Kelly of Zavalla; granddaughter, Kristie Sullivan of Zavalla; nephew, Ronnie Lyles of Nacogdoches; and nieces, Christine Brewer of Wells, Melanie Lyles of Lufkin, and Tony Tallant of Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Reynolds; sons, William C. Reynolds, Jr. and Jimmy R. Reynolds; and brother, Gene Lyles.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Sullivan, Ronnie Lyles, Gilbert Cavazos, and Shane Sullivan.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning prior to the services.
