Carey Bryan Wesley

Funeral services for Carey Bryan Wesley, 80, of Etoile will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Williams, John Harper, and Larry Trekell officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Hill Cemetery.

Carey was born February 15, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas to Charlcie Mae (Wallace) and Grady Bryan Wesley, and died Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Lufkin. He graduated from Huntington High School and the Lamar Institute of Technology. He then worked at Lamar for 40 years, first as a welding instructor and later as the Department Chair of the Technology Department. When he was not attending or working at Lamar he worked as a welder and inspector. He was a member of the Pipeliners Local Union 798 for over 60 years. Mr. Wesley was a member of Rocky Hill Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Joyce (Kimmey) Wesley of Etoile; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Carolyn Wesley of Spring; daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Keith Goodeaux of Sour Lake and Krista and Chad Chmielewski of Troy, Michigan; grandchildren, Alyssa Wesley, Bryn Goodeaux, Miles Chmielewski, and Nico Chmielewski; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Bud White of Huntsville and Lisa and Wayne Haglund of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Vickie Wesley of Crandall; special nieces, Emily Hanzel and Lily Hanzel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlcie Mae (Wallace) Wesley, Grady Bryan Wesley, and Billie Bryce (Mathews) Wesley.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Wesley, Wes Wesley, Zach Wesley, Garrett Wesley, Matt Page, Emily Hanzel, Phillip Loggins, and Wayne Haglund.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Feilder, Norman “Boogie” Campbell, Burnice Williams, Dean Nelson, Don Norwood, James Loggins, Jerry Campbell, Leon Loggins, Mark Johnson, Malcolm Arnold, Mark Salmon, Mike Arnold, Pat Harris, Phil Witt, and Randy Westmoreland.
