Calvin Marshall

Funeral services for Calvin Marshall, 94, of Pollok will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Bickley officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Marshall was born July 12, 1929 in Huntington, Texas to the late Dora Allen (Collier) and Drayden Vanburen Marshall, and died Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Marshall resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the United States Postal Service following over 15 years as a mail carrier. He was a member of Pollok Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Joe Marshall of Pollok; grandsons, John Calvin Marshall, Steven Ryan Marshall, Daniel Wayne Dixon, and Phillip Scott Dixon; granddaughter, Lari Michelle Dixon; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Ivy of Etoile; niece, Betty Bundrick and husband Travis; nephew, James “Scooter” Ivy; great-nieces, April and Amanda; a number of other nieces and nephews; and several in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Effie (Richardson) Marshall; son, Thomas Marshall; daughter, Janet Dixon; and brother-in-law, James Ivy.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Jackson, Eugene Crager, Curtis Shoemaker, and Scooter Ivey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Collier and Larry Dixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pollok Baptist Church, P.O. Box 85, Pollok, Texas 75969.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
