Funeral services for Brett Carter, 59, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Wilke officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ouachita Cemetery in Donaldson, Arkansas.

Mr. Carter was born April 4, 1966 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Katherine Ann (Leach) and Hildon Harlen Carter, and died Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Carter met the love of his life, Beth, 21 years ago. Their married life began with the numbers 2,4,6,8 - 2:00 p.m., 4-6-2008. He was a computer guru and enjoyed playing video games and fishing. He loved growing peppers, the hotter the better. He and his brothers had an ongoing rivalry to see who could grow the hottest peppers. Mr. Carter was a man of faith. He loved his Jesus.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Beth (Whorton) Carter of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Jonathan Carter of Austin and Christopher and Meaghan Carter of McKinney; grandsons, Oliver Carter and Alec Carter of McKinney; mother, Katherine Ann Dorsett of Lufkin; brothers and sister-in-law, Clay Carter of Mobile, Alabama and John and Ana Carter of Texas City; sisters and brother-in-law, Kim and Allan Riddle of Lufkin and Susie Shaw of Charleston, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; sisters, Cynthia Johnson and Janie Langston; and his faithful companion, Bear Dawg.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning prior to the service.
